Day 3 of the challenge

As challenge-taking goes, today was weak. I woke up this morning with my eye gunked over and swollen, along with a pounding headache like someone was jack-hammering my face off. I skipped out on work and headed to the urgent care down the street, only to have a bit of a disagreement regarding the cause of my aforementioned gunk. The doctor believed it was conjunctivitis. I believe that it is a sinus infection. She compromised and gave me a Rx for an antibiotic AND an eye drop. After a brief stop at Publix to fill them, and pick up some pain relievers, I spent the majority of the day with my dear friend who was waiting for her husband's car to be fixed.

I won't lie, the thought of doing any kind of exercise with this pounding dang headache was out the window. There's no way I could have done anything that included bending, stretching, increased heart rate, etc. No darn way. My compromise was walking - slowly - around the mall for a total of one mile. It took us well over 30 minutes. Tomorrow it will be back to the gym to work my behind off!

100 day challenge: Day 2

So 2 days into it actually became a challenge. I know, that sounds pathetic.
Tuesday nights are my book club nights. Now that we live farther out in the country it is sometimes hard to find time to squeeze anything in besides the basics, especially on a night that I will be turning around to leave shortly after getting home.

Tonight my choice was made for me by my lovely Lulu, the adorable and precocious four year-old that calls me mama. This evening we did yoga for kids together before I left for my book club. I had just enough time to get it in; it was goofy and not my speed, but it got me moving! Day two: complete!

100 days - Day 1

A co-worker posed a challenge to everyone today: do something, anything, just get moving for 30 minutes every day for 100 days. Challenge accepted!

I am going to update every day. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I expect that someone is going to call me out when I don't. I will also be updating on Twitter, so follow me (@operationloseit) if you just can't get enough.

Day 1: With flooding rains tonight, I decided to do a 30 minute, 2 mile "walk" on exercisetv.tv.

Milestone: 5%

I have a list of numbers that I keep in the draft folder that mean a great deal to me. They represent times in my life where I know exactly what I weighed. These dates are significant, and thus will be shared as milestones as I pass them by on the way down the scale.

Today's milestone: Weight Watchers 5% target since joining in January 2011.

Check out this article on all of the benefits of losing just 5% of your body weight. Every little bit counts - I know that I have felt a huge difference since January.

Next goal: Postpartum weight after having my daughter in 2007.

Just keep swimming, the next milestone is around the corner!
